INTERESTED IN AVIATION?  A VISIT TO OSHKOSH IS A MUST!!








For approximately one week, Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, Wisconsin will become the world's busiest airport: 2,500+ flights per day. During that week pilots, EAA members and interested observers descend into the area to enjoy: daily air shows; military aircraft; 2000+ "show aircraft"(warbirds, ultralights, antiques, classics and homebuilts); workshops; forums and plenty of enlightening conversation.


OSHKOSH  -  A  TYPICAL DAY


ARRIVAL Come early, gates open at 8:00 a.m. Purchase a flightline pass, it is the only way to see the air show, military aircraft and show aircraft. Wear light clothing, a hat, comfortable shoes and bring plenty of film. Don't plan on seeing everything in one day, it can't be done.


MORNING
Using the map inside your program book, pinpoint the types of airctaft that you would most like to observe. As you begin walking up and down the rows, feel free the chat with the pilots who designed, built and flew them here. If you are tired of walking take in a couple of forums, you'll enjoy the spirited conversation and find them very interesting.


AFTERNOON
Enjoy a meal or sandwich at one of the onsite resturants. Visit the EAA wearhouse to purchase additional film and then begin finding that special place to observe the afternoon airshow from. Show time is around 2:00 p.m. and lasts for about three hours. Featured are: EAA Warbirds, Marine Corps' Harrier, Ultralights, Gliders, Wing walking demonstrations and the Liberty Parachute Team.


EVENING
It's time to visit the Theater in The Woods after a long day at the air show and on the flightline. A typical night may include: famous pilots, avaition awards and entertainment. Past years have included: Apollo astronauts, Chuch Yeager, Robert "Hoot" Gibson and David Hartman to name a few.

FREE shuttle buses run continously to move you between the Convention site, Museum and Seaplane Base. Trams are also to move you up and down the flightline.
